Resources

IfYoureReadingThis.org is one of many great resources available to WSU students. Below we’ve provided a brief description of a few of these resources, as well as how to access them. While this list is not exhaustive, we hope it is helpful.

REAL TALK THURSDAYS

Real Talk Thursdays are weekly 30-minute mental health workshops hosted by a Cougar Health Services mental health professional. Conversations cover a range of topics like relationships, stress relief, allyship, and more. This resource is free to WSU undergraduate, graduate, and professional students on all campuses.  Meetings occur 1:30 PM- 2:00 PM every Thursday.

COUNSELING AND PSYCHOLOGICAL SERVICES

Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) offers same-day scheduled appointments, groups and workshops, individual and couples therapy, biofeedback, psychological assessment, testing, and 24/7 mental health crisis services. Their hours of operation are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday - Friday.

PULLMAN REGIONAL HOSPITAL

Pullman Regional Hospital exists to nurture and facilitate a healthier quality of life for our community. They provide a variety of treatment and prevention services, each at the forefront of the medical industry, designed to provide the most comprehensive benefits to their patients. 24-hour emergency care is available amongst a number of other services.

ALTERNATIVES TO VIOLENCE OF THE PALOUSE

Alternatives to Violence of the Palouse serves individuals affected by domestic violence, sexual assault, abuse, and stalking. Their services include 24-hour telephone or in-person crisis intervention, emergency and confidential shelter, legal and medical advocacy, individual and group support, information and referral, and community education.

GENDER IDENTITY/EXPRESSION AND SEXUAL ORIENTATION RESOURCE CENTER

The Gender Identity/Expression and Sexual Orientation Resource Center serves and supports LGBTQ+ students, faculty, staff, and alumnx. They provide resources, foster community building and relevant initiatives, and promote academic and personal growth, learning, and development.

MULTICULTURAL STUDENT SERVICES

The Office of Multicultural Student Services (MSS) seeks to facilitate the best undergraduate experience for multicultural, first-generation, and other underrepresented students through the provision of culturally relevant services to enhance learning and development.

UNDOCUMENTED INITIATIVES 

Undocumented Initiatives provides services and resources that support academic success and professional and leadership development to undocumented WSU students. Their events and initiatives generate dialogue, increase awareness, and build empathy with and for undocumented students and other immigrant and refugee communities.

WOMEN*S CENTER 

The Women*s Center engages with the multi-dimensional experiences of women, challenging patterns of injustice for people of all genders, and provides a welcoming and inclusive space. Their Lavender Lounge & Lactation Space provides a private, comfortable space to feed a child or use a breast pump. It is also available for meditation, prayer, quiet contemplation, meetings, interviews, naps, and a casual lounge area.

COUGAR FOOD PANTRY

The Cougar Food Pantry is a fully stocked pantry that provides free food to Pullman students experiencing food insecurity. The pantry stocks non-perishable staples, which allow for nutritious, filling meals and snacks. Their hours of operation are 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM Monday-Friday.
