If you’re reading this, we are here for you.

We are the exec team of the Wake Forest chapter of IfYoureReadingThis! For the first post of the semester, we wanted to introduce ourselves and what we do.

Hi! My name is Kendall, and I am the president of the Wake Forest chapter of  IfYoureReadingThis. I am a senior, currently majoring in Psychology and minoring in Health and Human Services. I embarked on this journey my freshman year in 2020. During that time, many students were feeling incredibly isolated. Recognizing the potential of this organization to provide much-needed support, I decided to establish this chapter. Over the years, I've thoroughly enjoyed leading this wonderful organization. It has allowed me to connect with a diverse range of individuals and immerse myself in the heartfelt letters they share. It has truly  been an incredible experience that I wouldn't trade for anything.

Hello! My name is Lauren, and I'm a junior from Iowa. I'm a psychology major, and here at Wake I'm also involved in the OG&B, orchestra, and Italian Club! I am passionate about If You’re Reading This because there is power in knowing that your peers are going through similar hardships. College can be an extremely stressful and isolating experience, so it is important that our student body understands the importance of mental health awareness! Aside from school organizations, I love backpacking, painting, reading, my cat, and Chipotle. I am so excited to read this year’s letters! <3

Hello everyone! My name is Prarthna Batra and I’m a sophomore from New Delhi, India. At Wake, I’m double majoring in psychology and communications with a minor in journalism. Mental health and having conversations about it and spreading awareness about it has always been something that I have been really passionate about and a cause I always want to be able to go above and beyond for. It is something I have wanted to incorporate in my personal life and professional life and IfYou’reReadingThis has allowed me to express my interest and involvement in those ways and support a cause on this campus I am so passionate about. I personally work as the editor of the letters, so each letter goes through me before being published on our website. Being an active member in supporting such a cause has been one of the most joyous experiences of my college career.

Hello! My name is Georgia Meyer, and I am a sophomore majoring in Psychology and minoring in marketing communications and entrepreneurship. Ever since the beginning of high school I have been very passionate about mental health awareness and have wanted to be actively involved in that field – in college, my career, and my personal life. If You’re Reading This has allowed me to do just that! We are an amazing organization here on campus that is actively working towards making Wake Forest an inclusive and safe place where students can openly discuss their journey with mental health. I personally work on the social media and public relations side of the organization and have loved being a part of communicating directly with students via social media. If you’re reading this, your feelings and emotions are 100% valid and are what make you, you (:

Hey there beautiful people! My name is Hunniya. I’m a freshman who intends to go into law with no clue about a major. I’m the director of outreach so if you get any very sweetly worded emails from me about getting involved don’t be alarmed! Mental health is so important to recognize and care about, which is exactly why this club is so important! We are here for you in every way. We serve as a reminder that you truly are never alone. We help you access kind words from people on campus to further set that principle in stone. If you’re reading this- you have a big community of people on campus that’s here for you (don’t forget that) <3

Please feel free to contact any of us if you have any questions about our organization.
